Media Alert: RiskIQ Announces Nationwide Threat Hunting Workshop Tour to Help Fill the Cybersecurity Skills Gap
March 14, 2018
SAN FRANCISCO – March 13, 2018 – RiskIQ, the leader in digital threat management, today announced that it is launching a nationwide cyber-training roadshow, which began in Cincinnati and St. Louis this month. Focused on teaching security analysts how to become effective threat hunters, the six-hour training session includes hands-on exercises and best practice approaches to online threat hunting.
The workshops will address the increasing demand for a skilled cybersecurity workforce. The national shortage of cybersecurity experts currently stands at 200,000 unfilled jobs nationwide, with a worldwide shortfall of 1.8 million expected by 2022.
The next stops in the series, featuring RiskIQ and several integration partners, include:
- March 27: McLean, Virginia
Boro Conference Center
Sponsors: RiskIQ & Flashpoint
- March 28: Durham, North Carolina
Research Triangle Foundation
Sponsors: RiskIQ, SecureNation & ISSA
- April 4: Santa Monica, California
Sponsors: RiskIQ, ProtectWise & Phantom
Along with RiskIQ, these sessions include the following partner sponsors: Flashpoint, Phantom, SecureWise, ISSA and SecureNation. Presentations will feature how these technologies work together to create one unified product, giving threat hunters the best way to manage and mitigate the digital threats that lie outside their firewall.
“With rapidly escalating digital threats now well-documented and acknowledged, the issue giving CISOs the most anxiety aren’t the threats themselves, but a troubling shortage of staff and viable technology that can help stem the tide,” said Brandon Dixon, Head of Product at RiskIQ. “Without the right tools and the training to use them, a lack of experienced staff to monitor and protect organizations from threat campaigns such as malvertising, phishing, and state-sponsored attacks will only get worse as businesses continue to expand their digital footprints in the pursuit of growing their business.”
All sessions are free of charge and include complimentary breakfast and lunch. They last from 8:30 a.m.- 3:20 p.m. and offer 6 CPE credits.
